December 21 - Jackie Dow, Director, of the Center for Cancer Care at CPH receives a check for $1,817 from Julia Rose, Executive Director, of the Massena Memorial Hospital Foundation. The check is the proceeds from the 3rd Annual Droppin’ the Gloves on Cancer women’s hockey tournament held in October. The tournament has raised over $23,791 over its short history. Next year’s tournament may be opened up to a co-ed and U19 girls’ division if sufficient interest exists.

November 8 - Laurie Logan, Assistant Vice President/Branch Manager, of North Country Savings Bank in Massena presents Julia Rose, Executive Director, of Massena Memorial Hospital Foundation with a $1,000 check. North Country Savings Bank values local healthcare and has provided annual support to the MMH Foundation since 2004.

October 10 - The Goswami family was on hand to celebrate the Dr. Sateesh K. Goswami Stress Lab dedication with friends and family. Dr. Goswami served the patients of Massena Memorial with ultimate care. He also started the Massena Free Clinic for those without insurance.
8/24/11 - Wayne Gretzky Estates donates a VIP Tasting for 10 to the "3rd Annual Droppin' the Gloves on Cancer" women's hockey tournament October 7-9, 2011.

6/13/11 - The Foundation's Afternoon Tea was held on Saturday, June 11 in the beautiful GEMMS Courtyard. Foundation president, Gail Schneider, enjoys some sunshine with her daughter and granddaughters.

6/9/11 - Lion Carol Perry, District Governor Elect/Membership Chair, presents the MMH Foundation with the Massena Lion’s Club radiothon pledge payment of $500 to Julianne Fowler, MMH Foundation’s Event Coordinator. The Massena Lion’s Club has supported the Massena Memorial Hospital Foundation’s radiothon for more than a decade. This year’s radiothon raised over $35,000 for bone densitometry equipment for the Massena Memorial Hospital’s Medical Imaging Department.

6/9/11 - NBT Bank will be a title sponsor of the 23rd Annual MMHF Benefit Golf Tournament set for Thursday, August 25th at the Massena Country Club. 5/13/11 - Our 22nd Annual Radiothon was a success raising more than $35,000 for new bone densitometry equipment for Massena Memorial's Medical Imaging Department. With hundreds of auction item bids, donations, and pledges we have to say "thank you" to each of you that helped us reach our goal. A special thank you goes out to Walter Basmajian representing the Emilie Bushnell Estate which made a $6,000 donation and the MMH Auxiliary which surprised us with a $5,000 donation.

2/17/11 - KeyBank has announced that they will again support the Staff Education Enhancement Program (SEEP) at Massena Memorial. SEEP provides funding for MMH employees to attend job related seminars, conferences, and training. All SEEP awardees provide a departmental in-service to share knowledge gained.

Katie Collins, Karen Seeber, Raynelle MacNeill and Candace McDowell are the four members of the EKG department that will assist patients with the new holter monitors.
2/11/11 - To help with the growing need for holter monitors, the MMH Foundation provided funding for 4 new Phillips holter monitors. Holter monitors are used for the heartbeat evaluation of ambulatory patients recorded over an extended period of time.

1/27/11 - The MMH Foundation board of directors presented Charles F. Fahd II, MMH CEO, with checks totaling $53,480 at their annual meeting on Thursday. The donations include funds for four areas of the hospital; the West Wing Expansion Project, digital mammography software, the Foundation’s year end appeal for a new triage chair for the emergency department, and four new Holter monitors for cardiac patients.

January 2011 - The Massena Memorial Hospital Auxiliary presented Julianne Fowler and Julia Rose with its annual pledge payment of $10,000 toward the West Wing Expansion Project at the Auxiliary's annual meeting. The Auxiliary has donated $80,000 to the project thus far.


10/20/10 - ALCOA Foundation grants Massena Memorial Hospital Foundation $120,000 for new cardiac monitors. The new state-of-the-art system meets todays needs of expanded capabilities, mobility, and electronic medical record interfacing.
