The Melissa Memorial Hospital Foundation serves our community by raising funds to support the hospital and help our citizens receive the best care possible.

Equipment

Funded / helped fund:

Pediatric Packs, Surgery Headlamps, Endoscopy equipment, Medicine Disposal Units, High-Low Exam Tables, Ice-machine, Dietary Carts, iPads and keyboards, refrigerators, scanners, lab equipment, and various types of equipment for the therapy department – just to name a few.

Memorials

Manage Funds:

Memorial funds have provided Treadmill and Cardiac Rehabilitation equipment, patient information white boards, and medicine supply carts and Physical Therapy equipment.

Awards

Given to graduating High School students entering a healthcare field, and scholarships and hospital employees to furthering their education. And, provided scholarships for two Melissa Memorial Hospital nurses who achieved their Master’s degrees.

Our History

In 1994, the Board of Trustees of the East Phillips County Hospital District endorsed the creation of a separate Foundation as they believed a group of people dedicated to the philanthropic opportunities available would enhance quality equipment, availability of staff and capital campaigns to continue through the legacy of generous donors such as yourself. The non-profit charitable tax exempt 501c(3) status was granted to the Melissa Memorial Hospital Foundation (MMHF) in March of 1995.

The Board of Melissa Memorial Hospital Foundation believes that Holyoke’s residents deserve quality healthcare close to home. People respond better to medical treatment when they are near their natural home environment and close to their loved ones. Funds raised by the Melissa Memorial Hospital Foundation supports services of the Melissa Memorial Hospital (MMH) to include acute care, emergency, diagnostics including 3D mammography, surgical, swing bed and outpatient care as well as chemotherapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, cardiac rehab, the Family Practice Clinic of Holyoke, and the Specialty Clinic.
